HOW DREAMS WORK

“What could education be if we added more compelling experiences to make learning fun, for everyone?” - Wayne Jones

HOW CAN STUDENTS DREAM?

  • OPEX Park aims to partner with under-resourced schools to provide hands-on in-school programming through our DREAMS framework. Our approach is a redesign of the STEM model. Our program consists of Design, Robotics, Engineering, Arts+Adventure Math and Science (DREAMS). Embracing the unique learning styles of all children- visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic. We’ve created integrated learning experiences through project-based activities that foster teamwork, creative thinking, and problem solving in a dynamic camp like environment. In 2016 DREAMS was implemented at Albert M. Greenfield Elementary. By 2018 Greenfield’s yearly achievement and progress report showed a 35% increase in the schools overall achievement, rising from 55% to 85% in two years.

  • OPEX will provide an onsite Engagement Program Specialist to help cultivate and develop your student’s creativity through unique experiences. All EPS are equipped with the tools to implement the 5 part program, fulfilling the mission to have students find a new love or passion and learn through our innovative DREAMS model.

  • Kids are well capable of academic success when they can use what they learn to improve their everyday lives. We foster their leadership capacity and emotional intelligence through teachable moments within our curated experiences. OPEX Park has a proven track record regarding changing the atmosphere in schools, while significantly reducing conflict between students. Through our curated experiences we teach conflict resolution by enforcing the values of teamwork, awareness, and empower students to become experienced leaders. Both teachers and parents report dramatic decreases in disruptive behavior, making it easier for educators to teach and students to learn.
